So she was calling a truce then, huh? That was fine by him (since he was unsure if he had enough energy left to continue their arguments).
She gave a yawn, stretched her back, then stopped. At once her mouth hung open, as if she just realized something that had never crossed her mind before. Something that caused her to gasp, then skewer him with the strangest expression.
With mouth hanging ajar, she tried many times to close it (or speak, he couldn't tell), eventually pushing it shut with her hands and covering the frown. He rose a curious brow as she took on a straighter than normal pose. Clearing her throat, her eyes flickered from him to another set of doors - he assumed led to her bedroom - then back to him again.
And THAT'S when it finally clicked!
Vandall's eyes bulged, holding the same deer-caught-in-headlights look that had both of them blushing. "Madam!" he sputtered, now finding the floor so interesting.
"Uh, no! I-I mean, I just thought, there for a second... um... no! You wouldn't-"
"I most certainly would NOT! Ewww. With you?" He stuck out his tongue, finding the very thought distasteful.
Lusey sighed, "Oh that's a relief-" then went stopped, going on the defensive, "Ew? What do you mean ew? What's wrong with me? It's not like I'm a leaper or something."
He sniffed as if to disagree, turning away. She didn't see how rosy his cheeks had become. "Mmmmm."
She took a deep huff, pouting her lips out in annoyance, "Hey, i'm pretty decent looking back where i'm from."
He made that grumble sound again, ducking his head lower on his shoulders. Lusey marched straight in front of him, towering angrily, "In fact, i bet i'm the best looking girl you've seen in years. And.... why am I arguing with you? What do I care what you think? You're just a bug."
She stomped her way to the linen closet, removing several sheets and blankets from inside. She then proceeded to throw the lot on his head, laughing as he fought to free himself. "There. Feel free to get comfy for tonight. And NO funny business! I'm locking my door just in case."
"....as if that could stop me...."
She glared even harder, apparently hearing that. "Come morning, you go home. Got it?"
He glared at her from a small opening through the blankets. His eyes sizzled, but eventually lost their fiery edge. The material was so soft, holding a sweet, flowery scent that instantly calmed his nerves.
He exhaled, slowly nodding to her demands, standing to place the items on the couch while he removed his top hat and jacket.
Lusey automatically spun about face, marching towards her bedroom. "I-I'll see y-you in the morning then."
Vandall gave a hmf, peeling away his shirt to neatly fold with the rest of his cloths. Why he didn't just drag himself home he didn't know. He could do it.... if he focused hard enough. But the risk of running into anyone along the way, of passing out in the middle of the street, of leaving the soft embrace of the couch and blankets seemed to change his mind.
He snuggled back onto the cushions, curling up with his wings falling off the edge. His back and shoulder horns snagged onto the material, but he quickly readjusted so that he didn't put to many holes in it. If nothing else he could buy her some new blankets or...
No no no no no nononononononono! He wasn't buying her anything! He didn't even know this woman or her creepy pet fly. No, he was going to get some sleep, go home, and forget this night ever happened.

WHUMPH
Lusey blinked and groaned, she must have tripped over something on he way to the bedroom. She looked behind her and saw a snoozing fruit fly curled up under one of her spare blankets. She heard a chuckled from the other room and she stomped her foot in frustration and embarrassment. Slowly, she managed to push Ephraim out of her room, closing the door behind him.
She stared at the ceiling for the longest time, thinking over the events of the day. It had started out so melancholy and easy-going. Come the later hours of the night, and everything seemed to happen at once. Now she had two strange bug-people living in her house, one of which had a fiery temper that easily outmatched her own. But then again... once he calmed down a little he wasn't TOO bad... She shook her head. What was she thinking? He was annoying, she had this impending doom feeling that the two of them would bicker until they tore at each other's throats... She yawned again and hugged onto her pillow. But these thoughts can wait... for another time... Her eyes grew heavy, as she slowly was drawn into a surprisingly comfortable sleep.
Her dreams were filled with shapes and colors, her muse had returned.

Softly chittering as he stumbled half asleep and very much half blind with out his goggles in to the living room, the blanket dragging behind him, he proceeded move forward and as he bumped in to the couch, he ignored the other giant insect on it as he stumbled backwards with a surprised chirp.
Using a free hand to touch the object he ran in to he then made a soft buzzing noise before promptly sitting himself down next the furniture. He chirped at the other insect before curling up again under the spare blanket and immediately started to doze off again.

The morning had come so quickly, filling the room with it's usual sounds and it's ever present golden glow. Vandall grimaced, mumbling something about the morning sodding off before yanking the blankets over his head, hoping to gain at least a few more minutes of sleep. He was far to cozy to get up and be damned if the sun was going to say otherwise!
POKE POKE POKE
Or perhaps the sun COULD say otherwise.
He growled under his breath, but for the most part didn't respond.
POKE POKETY POKE
Another (louder) growl erupted, followed by his claws clenching hard enough to crack his exoskeleton.
POKE POKE POOOOOOOOKE "Krii?"
At that Vandall lost his patience - never being a morning person to begin with - ripping the covers from his head, screaming, "WHAT DO YOU WANT!?"
Raimy hunched over in fear, having been caught completely off guard by the outburst. His little knees quaked, feet refusing to budge no matter how hard he commanded them too. The only thing he could do at this point in his state of fear was hold a bowl in front of his face, hiding behind it and hoping the other bug's fury wasn't unleashed upon him so early.
Vandall heaved angrily, eyeing the fly, then the bowl, then the fly again. After three more sweeps of the same process it finally clicked in his brain what the little pest was doing.
Raimy took quick peeks over the mound of fruit, ducking back for every time Vandall looked up. He motioned for the other to take one, chirping softly, receiving a disgusted frown and a hard push for his efforts.
"Hey! what did i tell you about being mean to him?"
Vandall immediately scrunched up, his wings fluttering as he turned to see a steaming Lusey exit her bedroom, crossing her arms.... and wearing nothing (that he could tell) but a bathrobe. A thin, clingy robe that accented every womanly curve she possessed and then some.
His mouth fell open, unintentionally ogling over her physic. Up and down his eyes roamed, snapping out of their trance when she marched straight up to him, positioning herself between the two insect; bending forth, still fuming in Vandall's face, and nearly showing him her....
Vandall shot up, startling Lusey enough she fell into a heap on her "pet" . "I-I-I should go." Vandall reached for his clothes, letting the blanket slip to reveal he wore absolutely NOTHING underneath.
'He's..... he's....' Lusey couldn't even finish that thought, turning her head away to collide into Raimy's chest. "Good grief, Vandall. You're naked? In my house?"
"So is he." he pointed out, nodding his head in the fly's direction while buttoning up his shirt; a satisfied smirk twisting his lips. Now that she thought about it (and she really didn't want too!), Ephraim WAS naked! Always had been!
Oh LORD. She put a hand to her forehead, unable to look at either of them. Her cheeks burned hotter when that sadistic walking twig began to laugh. "Gah! T-thats beside the point. He's... well..." she peeked a look at Raimy (who by now contented himself with sitting on the ground making the grapes fly around in circles until landing in his mouth). "he doesn't know any better. And he doesn't seem to have anything down there anyways." Yes, she had stolen a quick glance just now to be sure.
Vandall tsked, zipping up his fly to now stand descent before her virgin eyes. "That's hardly an excuse. (sigh) But I really should be leaving... before the streets get too crowded." the last part was added under his breath as an after thought.
Surprisingly though, when he snapped out of his inner musings to claim his cape and hat, Lusey had already retrieved the items, holding them against her chest while an unreadable expression danced across her face. "Ahah, it IS rather early."
"How astute you are." His fingers wiggled in a silent gesture to hand said items over. His silent gesture went ignored. 'So it's going to be like that again?'
Didn't this woman ever learn?

She looked back at the clock nervously. It was what, seven or eight in the morning? She rubbed her eyes, clinging to the hat and cape. It was too early for her to even care, but too late for a giant treehopper to run off into the streets. She had noticed easily that the mornings in Paris were just as active as the late hours (though the night-owls usually went down into the lower regions of Paris and the Montmartre district, where all of the restaurants and clubs were.
He took a step forward, hand outstretched. "Please, madam, give me my cape and hat." His voice and eyes gave him a threatening look at that moment, and Lusey couldn't help but gulp a little. She knew he really never did any harm (well, aside from shoving Ephraim down in the same mannerism of a kindergardener), but with claws and spikes like his, she didn't like her chances. She fidgeted with the hat and looked back at the clock. 8:03. She brought up what courage she could muster and faced him again. "I don't think you'll be able to leave until tonight." To be sure her assumptions were correct, she walked backwards and peeked through the curtains. Yup... the neighborhood's already awake... She sighed a little in frustration, his company was unnerving, but she had to admit it was good to talk to somebody who knew proper English. She was always so paranoid about saying something wrong when she spoke French, and she knew her accenting was strange to them. "People are up and about on their business, Vandall. I doubt a top hat will do much to cover that bright yellow face of yours in a day as bright as today." His eyes narrowed a little in distaste. Spending another minute in this house with that woman? He'd go insane. "I can manage--" His eyes widened, and he stared at her with a shocked expression on his face. Lusey blinked and looked down, yelping in surprise as the straps holding up her dress continued to slip down her arms. In a flailing motion, she snatched one after the other, setting them back in their place. The hat and cape were both on the floor, but at this moment in time Lusey really didn't care. Ephraim continued to eat fruit as he sat on the floor happily chirping, completely unaware of the situation he was literally sitting in between.
Vandall blinked and turned away, crossing his arms. He was trying his best to avoid eye contact. "Fine. I'll stay here until it gets dark, but no later!" "That's fine with me, now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to change into something more decent." "Good, I don't think I could bear looking at you in that atrocious robe any longer." The next thing he felt was a large pillow hit the side of his face with just enough force to make him lose his footing for a moment. His head snapped towards the source angrily, but was only met with a slammed door. His hands clenched onto the pillow with fury, he was about ready to blow a gasket and this woman was the source of his anger. He took a few deep breaths and walked to the couch, plopping down onto the cushions. Take it easy... don't leave the dratted woman's house a bloody mess... Yeah, easy enough to say than do. He just hoped his tantrums wouldn't grab too much attention... well, when he did finally snap, whenever that would be.
When Lusey returned, she was wearing the strangest outfit one would ever hope to see. It was simple enough, pants, shirt, small coat, all in different hues of a gentle brown... but it was the rainbow of paint splatters all over the fabrics that made it stand out. Stains of fiery orange, flecks of marble white, and dried droplets of navy blue, and that was only a fraction of the color! Vandall wasn't sure what to think of it. Ephraim stared and chirped happily, the colors were bright and pretty, and some of them reminded him of his favorite fruits. "What are you wearing?" She cracked her knuckles and smiled a small bit. "Work clothes." "What kind of work needs that sort of outfit?" "Really now," she walked over to a large, sunlit area of the room. "What did you think this easel was here for?" Wha? He blinked. Lo and behold, there it was, a large easel with a blank canvass resting upon it. Well, that would explain the paint. "I should really get some painting done, if it turns out good enough I can sell to a local buyer... or the galeries if I'm lucky." She sat down at the small stool and picked up a small palette and some paints. This was her own little bubble now. Just her, the paint, and the empty canvas screaming for color.

Bounding down the once terrifying city in the bright day-light was odd. The events of the previous night still shocked her slightly but was relieved after getting home to find that her friend obeyed her and stayed home. Bounding step by step in more comfortable shoes than the night before she caught herself letting out a tired sigh.
Still she had to check up on that other creature. Quite frankly she didn't want to but her morals clung tightly to her mind. At the time she wished she had boxing gloves of some sort feeling her sore knuckles.
Though her hands were sore and strained she tightly clutched a heavy doctors bag ignoring the prying eyes digging into her back at the sight of a female doctor. She wasn't sure how his condition was but she brought various tools in case she needed them.
Raising her eyes from the stoned ground she found that she was back on the haunted road. Oddly enough though it was cheerful looking even with the lack of people walking about it. Immediately spotting the house that the girl pointed out the day before she sped up her step until she stepped inches away from the door and gave two soft knocks.
"Its me, doctor Magalie."
While waiting she curiously looked at the building and saw it wasn't as rich an grand as the others on the street but it had a friendly feeling to it as if it was welcoming to any sort of outsider.

Two wraps at the door, then a firm, feminine voice called , "It's me, doctor Magalie." So that had been the other woman's name. Vandall scowled, gliding towards a window to peek out at the beast that had given him a concussion; and no doubt broke his foot too. He hoped she felt his glare, for it locked straight on her face that, after a moment of fidgeting, made her look up into his dark expression. She returned it, though not holding half as much venom. It all ended when the anorexic twig had been pushed away from his perch, the sound of, "stop being a creeper!" and "you look like a gargoyle!" were heard through the door. Lusey's face appeared briefly in the window before the door swung open. "Docotor, i'm so glad to see you again. I wasn't sure if you were coming back or not. I'm glad you did" (welcome back malevolentmask)Magalie gave a gentle smile, nodding her head in understanding. "I couldn't leave a patient in need. It goes against my code." "That's a relief." Lusey sighed, then leaning in to whisper, " He's been driving me crazy and I was hoping you had something in your bag to... help calm him down." Magalie seemed to understand that. She sat her bag down, stopping short from pulling out equipment when a strange presence pressed against her back. She felt the soft breathing on her neck, then saw a face pushing further over her shoulder. Snapping her head to the side, she came face to face with yet ANOTHER insect; this one appeared less intimidating but a giant bug all the same. She stumbled away from Ephraim, who by now was poking her bag, chirping and whirring at the little surprises tucked away inside it. "Heavens. You have two of them?" Lusey rubbed the back of her neck, giggling with embarrassment. "they both kind of fell into my lap last night." "And you let them stay here with you... alone?" Lusey nodded, trying to hide the blush sweeping across her cheeks. "I suppose it couldn't be helped." "You act like we were going to eat her." Vandall growled crossly. Magalie stiffened her posture, "for all i know you could have." "Didn't stop you from leaving her to her fate last night." "Had i known she would take ill mannered strays in all night i'd have made more of an argument. Now!" she half yelled, stopping him from forming a comeback, "we have work to do. Come here." Vandall eyed her hotly, lurking towards her... only to pass the doctor as she reached out for him. He instead entered Lusey's kitchen, rummaging around the food cupboards. "Really now." both women moaned. "You were ready to kidnap me last night to look at you and now this? Fickled creature." "More like pain in the ass if you ask me." Lusey grumbled, stopping short when a slam came from her kitchen, followed by a bowl that came zooming at her head.

Annabeth ducked, she could feel the bowl skim right across the edges of her hair, by the time her hands had clasped onto her head, there was a loud CRASH. She opened and eye and looked over at the far wall. There in pieces at the bottom of it was one of her favorite glass bowls. She stood up straight in a flash, arms to her side clenched so tightly that her knuckles had turned white. Vandall was standing in the kitchen glaring at her with a death stare that would make a heavyweight boxer cringe in fear. Slowly, she turned her head towards him, and the rage in her eyes and snarl on her lips said enough for his glare to lose a little of its edge.
"Selfish, temperamental..." She was walking towards him slowly. "grumpy son of a BITCH!" She had him cornered, and promptly slapped him hard across the face. "You attack a doctor, continuously threaten and harass me, mistreat my friend, and then you have the AUDACITY TO THROW ONE OF MY FAVORITE GLASS BOWLS AT MY HEAD!" Her arm thrashed out, missing his face by inches as she pointed back at the not startled doctor. "Now you will BEHAVE like a good boy and sit your sorry ass down and let her make sure none of your injuries are severe or SO HELP ME, I WILL HAVE ALL OF PARIS HUNTING YOU DOWN WITH TORCHES AND PITCHFORKS!" His face had quickly gone from a deadly glare to one of mixed fear and shock. His mouth was ajar, eyes unblinking as he stared into the fire-lined eyes of the clearly pissed off woman. She took a step to the side to let him by. "Now MARCH." He wasn't sure specifically why, but Vandall did exactly what he was told, walking over to Magalie, plopping down on the floor right in front of her. He didn't look at her, and crossed his arms in defiant defeat.
She puffed her chest a little, fists balling up again, not taking note of her surroundings in her moment of blind fury. She stormed back to her easel and stared at the painting she had started. Urgh, doing anything to it now would ruin it, she knew whatever her next brush strokes were would be venomous, not sweet or excited. Instead, she pulled a small notebook from a nearby drawer and a charcoal pencil. If anything could calm her down, it was that sketchbook.

Standing firmly behind him she reached into her bag and shuffled around a bit till she pulled out a stethoscope. Attempting to keep both the bug and the girl occupied she started to chat on at random "Firstly I should check his heart, in some cases though there are more tha-..." she shut herself up not wanting to mention too much about a certain butterfly's case of having two hearts.
Grabbing hold of his rough shoulders she turned the bug around much to his displeasure. Kneeling down she clasped the metal to right chest for a second but found there was no pulse there. Trying to figure out the location of his pulse she tried the left chest, still nothing. Curiously she tried the middle or the core and finally found a beat. "I guess it would make sense since he's not human." she noted and closely examined the beat.
Standing back up and take the buds of the scope out of her ear she said simply to Lusey "Seems fine, has a relatively steady pulse." snapping her head back to her bag she pulled out a small wooden stick. "Open your mouth." she ordered about to retaliate a rude comment Mag took her chance and stuck the wooden stick down on his tongue looking inside his mouth with distaste. "Doesn't have rabies, what a relief." she jokingly said ignoring the grumble from Vandal.
The only thing she had trouble was checking was ear holes so she skipped it thinking he seemed fine since he could clearly hear what she was saying. "Did you have to hit him at all after I was gone?" she asked Lusey which was replied with a nod. Mag just acknowledged it and realized there really wasn't anyway of not harming him with that behavior of his.
As a last test Mag pulled out a pair of clean white cloth gloves and just poked at areas that she remembered hitting him. It seemed the only one that was really bruised was his core and face. Thinking back to the hard shell that covered his core she passed it off as a simple injury "He seems perfectly fine despite the bruising. I would just suggest not to hit him in stomach too much."
Finally turning her attention to the rest of the room and its inhabitants she found that it was fairly nice. Part of her hoped that the bugs wouldn't do to much. "If you want I can check your other friend, for the most part he seems fine too though."
Part of her wanted to offer any sort of help with the bugs considering she had prior knowledge but she still was unsure about trusting the girl and her 'friends.'
While packing up her tools a little toy slipped out and fell to the floor with a thud. Flustered Mag swiftly picked it up feeling the three pairs of eyes on her. "I-..."
Oh god why did he have to put that infernal thing in there. It seemed so weird to carry around toys yet he was fascinated by them and littered them all through the house. She could of swore she didn't have any in her bag when she left this morning.

Honestly, he enjoyed having a friend, and having her share her home with him and that Vandall insect but Ephraim really wondered how three people could be so, so…loud.
Sure, he had heard humans scream before but that was outside, inside voices were not supposed to be loud.
At least that is not what he was taught, his caretaker Henry told him that whenever Raimy himself got to loud for the elderly man’s ears.
So eyeing the three bickering figures Ephraim grabbed an apple and was about to use his ability to cling to the walls to bypass the group that blocking the way out of the kitchen, when his plan to escape however were stopped when something fell out of Magalie's bag catching his attention.
Making a chirpy 'ooh' sound he crouched down to inspect the tiny toy.

Vandall hastily re-buttoned his shirt, sitting rigidly once his jacket was shrugged back on and giving the situation further thought. He couldn't deny how embarrassed he was at his current situation; being bossed around like a child by two women he had just met, poked and prodded like a piece of meat! Truly that doctor had nerves of steel. He expected her to show a little fear towards his appearance.
But she acted as if she had done this before, even began to explain her knowledge upon the matter until cutting herself off. That forced a suspicious brow to raise.
She had finished before he could press for anything, turning her attention now to the little object that had fallen from her bag.
It was a.... yoyo?
Odd.
'Perhaps to strangle her patience with.' He snickered, watching the fly swoop it up. Raimy turned it over in his hands, sniffed, then nibbled on it until the heavy part fell from his hands, unwinding on the floor. He gave a startled chirp, drawing it back.
Raimy began to panic, thinking he had broke it. He scrambled to retrieve it, winding the string the wrong way around its middle and offered it back to Magalie with chirps of apology, not noticing her covering her smile.
"T-that's alright," the doctor offered, nervously taking it back up. She saw his crestfallen face, nibbled her lip, then rewound the yoyo. "Here, let me show you how to do it." She flicked her wrist, showing how easy it was to call the toy back up. She did it 3 more times before handing it back to a googly eyed Raimy. "Think you can manage while i give you a quick check up?"
Raimy nodded enthusiastically, concentrating on making the yoyo draw back up into his hands.

Lusey quietly chuckled to herself as she continued to draw in her large sketchbook. What had looked like nothing more than scribbles a moment had started to change as she drew the current situation in front of her. Her eyes would flicker up ever so often to look before setting her focus back on the sketchbook. Vandall hadn't moved from the spot she had instructed him to... or at least she thought that. She was mostly calm at this point, if not a little dry in humor and irritated. His part of the drawing was done. She got it done first to get it out of the way.
All this while she slowly smiled, hearing Ephraim's happy chirps of interest as he played around with the interesting new object. A yo-yo, if she had heard correctly. She hardly noticed Vandall's presence behind her until he spoke. "What is that?" She looked up in surprise, he was looming over her like a ghostly apparition. "What? The painting? or this?" "The drawing." She didn't quite know in what way she would respond to his question. She still wasn't very pleased with his attitude, but he seemed to have mellowed down, so keeping it that was would be ideal for both his and her sanity. "It's... the room... all of you from where I sit.... See look, there's you-" "No, I see it now... are the spikes really that obvious through the coat?" "I guess so, I mean, I didn't notice but you sort of moved." "Hrmph. Well-" "It doesn't matter, I got the main idea, I can emphasize from there..." She kept drawing, her irritation was rising and falling with each word. Focus back on the artwork or risk another outburst...

While the insect, a fly she presumed played with the yo-yo she did the same tests that she did before. While doing so the creature was completely distracted with the yo-yo as he attempted to swing it up and down a couple times, cheerfully chirping once he finally got the hang of it. While checking his pulse she found he had a rather strange heart beat but shrugged it off knowing that each of these bugs seemed to vary in anatomy.
After the tests were done she curiously looked over at his wings gently taking them in her hands. They seemed much too small for flight and she wondered if he could even use them at all. Noticing that he seemed uncomfortable and saddened when she touched his wing she quickly unlatched her hand. "Sorry...I was just wondering..do you have any sort of trouble when you fly?" she asked and quickly regretted her question at a sad whimper like chirp.
Part of her wanted to embrace and clam down the fly but she was still wary of contact. Though it seemed useless she pulled a clean white handkerchief and handed it to him thinking he was about to cry and apologized again "I-i'm really sorry I didn't mean to..."

The woman, 'what did she say her name was again? Lusey?' Yes, that's it, this Lusey person continued to work on her sketch's, hunched over the pages with her fingers flickering over the paper so rapidly Vandall didn't dare blink in case he missed something.
she had been at it for some time, glancing up briefly only to return to the picture. The insect found it fascinating watching her work.
So much so he had fallen into a trance and had only realized it after she had stopped, straightening her back and conversing with the doctor.
Vandall blinked several times, shaking his head to clear it. When he opened his eyes she had set the sketch pad aside, untangling Raimy from his new toy. The fly chirped sadly, having his hands bound together and over his head somehow. Even the doctor looked baffled on how this had happened.
Vandall chuckled to himself, returning his focus on the sketch pad. he swooped it up, scanning every line and figure Lusey had crafted. He found himself liking what he could discern (since he'd be the last to admit he had NO artistic talent or the eye for it), tilting his head in a thoughtful way.
His half smile drooped when it found his image. the figure was a dark, spiky blotch that sat hunched and menacing looking. He set the sketch down, no able to look at it anymore.
He gave a fleeting look towards the three individuals, somewhat jealous of how easily that OTHER creature could be accepted so easily. 'But we cant all be blathering idiots.' He inwardly grumbled.
Quietly retrieving his cape and hat, he popped his collar and headed for the door. He couldn't stay with these people any longer (busy street or not). He didn't want to hear them talk about everyday things or fuss over his health. And had he been thinking clearly last night, he wouldn't have even bothered with harassing the doctor or sleeping on this artist's couch. Home is where he belonged. Not here. Not with these people and there... normalcy (minus the giant fly. That was a surprise!)
Vandall gave a final huff, fingering an object in his coat pocket. He withdrew it, thinking long and hard, looking back at the group before setting it down on her coffee table.
And just like that he left.

The first thing Lusey heard was the door shut. Had somebody looked inside and seen Ephraim and Vandall!?
She looked up at the door and window, nobody was there... She looked around... Where was Vandall? Something glinted in the corner of her eye, and she focused in on the coffee table. There was a single coin there, a little 20-franc coin. Her brows furrowed and she looked at the door in worry. "I'll be back. You two stay here. I mean it this time. Stay!" Ephraim chittered unhappily and the doctor looked at her in confusion. "What are you doing?" Lusey opened the door and stepped outside. "Something stupid, I bet." And like that she was gone as well... But she had the full intention to return, dragging Vandall by the feet if she had to.
The streets were't too crowded, but there were people walking about. How hard could it be to find one top hat in the spaced crowd? She was about ready to smash a hand into a close by wall when she heard a loud scream. The few people around looked up and around in surprise, but Lusey knew what was happening and ran down the closest alley. There around a few turns was Vandall, hands in the air as a young woman screeched out in fear, she must have knocked off his hat, which had settled onto the ground. Lusey looked around in panic, the more this woman screamed, the more dangerous things could get. She looked down and picked up a single rock and chucked it at the woman. The screaming stopped and the woman fell in an unconscious heap. Vandall turned around in surprise, and Lusey couldn't help but shift a little. The look in his eyes was so unnatural, angry even. But it almost melted when he saw her staring back at him. "What are you doing-" "Why did you leave?" "Wha-" "Why couldn't you have stayed!? Look at the mess you've gotten yourself into! Look at what you made me do!" She beckoned angrily to the unconscious woman. "You could have been seen by more than just this poor woman, Vandall! And then what!? Police would scour the streets with the order for your head on a silver platter!" Her voice was strained with the mix of anger and fear. She could see him scouring her eyes for an answer for her coming to find him, but the only expression on her face was worry... worry, and a burning anger that was simmering down with every second.
