"HEY! Put her down!!!"
The shout had materialized out of no where, forcing the large insect to freeze, then whip his head around; facing the new individual (another blasted woman!) who held her body poised and ready for battle.
They stayed like that for several seconds, staring the other down, reminding Lusey of a showdown of some sort. Save that she had no guns and he looked even scarier up close.
Lusey nervously cleared her throat, masking the fear by squaring her shoulders and raising her balled fists an inch higher. "Put her down. Now!"
Vandall frowned at that tone, snorting at being ordered around by a 5 foot nothing girl. A ballsy one at that, too. Ah, but what could he expect from an American?
Frown dissolving, he slanted his lids in a condescending manner, giving her a quick once over before arching a slender brow; as if asking, 'And what will you do if i don't?'
Lusey caught that faint smirk tweeking his lips, lifting her fists higher still. "T-thats right. You heard me, bugsy. Set her down."
Magalie had to bite her lip hard to keep from laughing. His face! It had been priceless when the other woman called him Bugsy. She gained control of herself just as he spun to face her, eyeing her hotly. Almost as in warning.
His upper lip drew back, but complied to the others shaky demands - for some odd reason- setting Mags down. The moment her feet touched solid ground she proceeded to bolt; stopped only by the hands still clutching her shoulders.
"Do forgive us," he addressed Lusey coldly, "we were simply having a small disagreement. We didn't mean to disturb you, did we chere?" He gave a subtle squeeze to Mags shoulders, a warning that went ignored.
Without hesitation she lifted her boot to slam the pointy heel hard on his foot. She became even more surprised when he gave a yelp, whooping triumphantly to finally find a weak spot on this THING.
As he bent forward to hold the struck part, Mags did a 180, promptly elbowing him in the side of his head with a satisfying THWAK! "For the last time, I. Said. NO!" She went to give him a good kick in the ribs but stopped short when she noticed another bug creature not to far.... and it was watching her!

Despite seeing he was clearly down for the count she gave him a good kick to the ribs with a huff straightening her loose glasses. For a second she peered over at him for any sudden movement but saw none, at that she turned her head towards the girl who came to help.
"...I didn't think he was going to do that." she said truthfully while picking back up her umbrella in case he rose again.
Even though they knew very little of each other Magalie drew a thankful hand shaking with the girl. "Thank you, who knows what he would have done..." she replied as if she was more concerned over other people's safety rather than her own.
Giving a quick glance around the area she saw that nothing was really in sight except for a shuffle near by but she believed it was just a fretting squirrel.
"And to think I just came to do a quick cheek up on one of my patients. Humph, its ridiculous that a lady can't even walk down a rich road without being bothered." she mumbled mostly to herself.

The bug could speak. It could speak, and it was VERY rude. She huffed a little, fists still raised in an offensive posture... That was until he finally set down the other woman with a sneer, only to be booted hard in the foot, then the head, and then in the ribs. Annabeth found herself admittedly cringing. Bug or not, that probably hurt... a lot.
She started to shudder a little, she had just tried to pick a fight with an oversized bug, and she didn't realize it before, but she was terrified. The woman, whoever she was, proceeded to grab her hand and shake it, promptly saying "Thank you, who knows what he would have done..." Annabeth nodded her head and shook back, taking a quick glance around at the crumpled, groaning heap of a body. "You're welcome, I guess... Um, are you sure he'll be alright? I saw most of this going on from my apartment and, well... didn't expect to see a giant bug..." She smiled, and looked away for a moment. "Well, two in one night, anyways." She muttered under her breath, before focusing back on the stranger. "Sorry, sorry. Umm, who's your patient? I haven't been very uh, social with too many people since moving here. Different country and language and all." "Yes," The woman responded. "He's an older man who's been having some odd headaches recently." "Hmm, maybe you're talking about old Sam, that crazy guy who lives down on the corner over there?" She pointed behind her to a dimly lit corner, where a small light gray building sat, lights on in patient waiting for the doctor. "Yes, that's the place... and then this one came along." Annabeth glanced over at the bug-man again. This time, her brows knit together as she tried to figure him out...
He was thin... VERY thin. And the fact that he had been taken out so easily proved he wasn't just thin, he was also rather unhealthy... or perhaps just weak. She heard a quiet chitter and her head snapped to the left. Was it... Ephraim? She shook her head and smiled. "Anyways," she shook the woman's hand again. "Hello, uh, my name's Annabeth, most of my friends used to call me Beth or Lusey, use whichever of the two you like."
She took no notice to the figure behind this strange doctor, or the scuttling sounds of Ephraim hiding from the stormy-eyed stare she had just given.

Hmm, it seemed it was all right. The thin male, and if Ephraim heard correct, the male was an insect too?
Oh, how he wanted to jump down and see him but the look Lusey send him quickly crushed that idea and send him scurrying back in to the shadows with a scared chirp.
Females were scary! At least this one was.
He really should go back to Lusey’s place and wait but the aggression shown by the other male did not settle to well with him, so he found a more shadowed place to stay at and watch what was happening between the three figures.
Evil eyed friends be damned, one more aggressive move from the stick like figure and he would jump down to protect his friend.

What happened?
That same question kept replaying in his thoughts, bobbing between coherency and that sweet, sweet dark oblivion you fell into between dreams. Aaah, how it would be nice to slip completely into unconsciousness and forget this whole incident ever happened. Hell! Forget the past 3 years ever existed!
Just lay back and pretend he was still at the university, living the good life with his lady friends and painting the town red with the endless supply of daddy dearest's money. That brought out a soft purr, followed by a contented smile.
That smile quickly morphed into a grimace when his sense of pain thought it a perfect time to reboot itself. Reality came crashing back down; a horrible throbbing working its way from his stabbed foot to all the way up to his bruised face.
He gave a loud groan, reaching two hands around to massage the sensitive area. He immediately flinched, shocked to discover even the softest touch made him wince. 'Good thing i don't have a nose, else it'd be transplanted two inches into my skull.' a morbid thought, but a true one none the less.
He returned his attention to his injuries, wiggling his toes, hissing angrily at his own weakness. A weakness that should be non existent!
He gradually uncurled himself from his pain induced fetal position, slowly sitting up with head in hands.
He sat there in baffled silence, unable to process how this could have happened. He'd taken hits harder than this with out being laid out (and temporarily knocked out) so easily. So what in God's name had caused him to crumble?
His mind couldn't wrap around it. This body was supposed to make him stronger. 'Supposed to...' he reminded himself. A new thought soon invaded the old, one that had him moan even louder - but not in pain like last time. Oh no, this time it was humiliation. He had been beaten....
.... by a girl! A short, dainty looking girl.... 'that has an elbow made of steel.' He rubbed his face again, lids clasped shut and cheeks burning.
'What was i thinking? That i could go up to her and say, "Hey, doc. I have this problem, see? And i, well, could you take a look at it for me?"'
He sighed, ready to stand and drag himself back home. He wasn't in the mood to handle the professor tonight (not after this blow to his ego), only wanting to snuggle into his chair and pretend he'd never gone out to begin with.
"Uh... he's getting up."
Vandall froze.
Oh God. OH GOD they were still here.

Hearing the comment Mag snapped her head back at the insect. Sneering she rose her foot to strike again until she finally noticed he was defenseless. Seeing the fault in her actions she lowered the sharp heel and turned her head back at the young girl, knowing that she too thought the actions were too harsh.
'Hopefully I didn't injure him too badly. Maybe that extra shot to the ribs wasn't necessary...'
Sighing she unexpectedly lowered herself down to the insect's level checking to see if his breathing was alright. Lowering a wary hand toward one of his bruises she poked it to see it was tender and swiftly backed up when he flinched in pain. At first she gave him a stern look but it melted into sympathy and with a sigh of regret she handed him her umbrella for support.
"Why am I doing this..." she mumbled as she heaved the creature onto his feet with a bit of support. Right after getting him back on his feet and having him lean on the umbrella for support.
As soon as he was steady she got out of the way still not fully trusting that he wouldn't harm her. "...What is it you even wanted?...There were certainly more polite ways of asking for someone's help you know." She ranted waving her index finger at him.

((OOC: Sorry for the late response! I wasn't sure how I was going to write the next post))
She watched this act of kindness with an interested light in her eyes. The very same woman who had just beaten the stranger down... was now helping him up. The thing wobbled there on the single umbrella, looking away in defiant embarrassment. But his strength wasn't holding out well, and he was wobbling. His legs started to give way, and without thinking, Annabeth ran over and caught his side. "Alright, bug-man. Take it easy now..." He scoffed a little, but didn't seem to show too much obvious retaliation. "I don't need help from you, Yankee." "Yeah yeah, tell it to your feet, they don't agree with you."
Annabeth looked up at the nearby roofs, Ephraim wasn't exactly the greatest hider. "Raimy! I told you to stay, not follow! Get back to the apartment! I'll be here shortly." The figure chittered and disappeared back into the shadows. Annabeth shook her head and sighed. "Sorry, anyways." She looked up at the highly confused woman. "Ignore that, you've got a crazy old man to attend to, and... looks like I'll have my hands full again." She hefted up the strange bug up a little further and held onto his back. "Whether this one likes it or not, we can't just leave him here to rot or be seen. godwhyamIsocharitabletostrangerstoday..." She coughed. "Feel free to stop by afterwards, maybe you could give him a checkup and see what his main injuries... I'm in the third apartment down." She pointed to the set of small homes up on the ridge. "I'm not trying to run a charity or anything. But, well. Better to help ugly sods like this poor guy than let somebody with less common sense scream and start shooting." He could feel him tense up at her indirect insult. Touchy, thin, and currently too weak to stand. Rather pathetic, but... "Well, I'll be sure to figure out what's with this guy soon. Now go and do your doctor stuff." She started to slowly half drag, half support the somewhat limping bug back. Damn, for a thin bug, he's pretty heavy...

((OOC:Sorry for the shortness. I couldn’t think of anything else and I’m not comfortable using everyone else’s characters ^^; ))
Ephraim made a buzzing noise at the back of his throat as he got send back to the apartment. He had a bad feeling that when Lusey would be home he would be in for a scolding.
Quickly scrambling in to the modest apartment and this time really making sure he was not seen, he doubt the girl would appreciate her neighbours spotting him, he closed the window behind him.
So…now what? He had to wait for her return and he did not know when she would so…
Wings fluttered in an excited way, he grinned.
Exploration time!

Ugly sod indeed. Feh! Had she looked in a mirror lately? She wasn't exactly Asta Nielsen herself. He grimaced, forgetting how much it hurt to smile right now.
'But you cant say much' he inwardly grumbled -especially when he knew how true her words were. And she also had to make a valid point on how the populace would react, too. Just thinking about having a gun shoved down his throat made him shutter.
But that still left the question of why she was helping him. Wasn't she afraid?
Surely she'd seen his face by now -what with them being so close- and felt his protruding extremities through his clothes. Was she touched in the head or something?
Vandall didn't have time to question this for, as he set his foot down, a sharp jolt shot up his leg, causing him to hop and hollar so many lued words his mother would've raced down the road and ripped out his tongue with her bare hands.
The yankee didn't seem to mind though, or didn't understand anything he said (stupid American's cant even speak the countries native language!) She just smiled good heartedly, maybe even laughing a little at his silly display. He thought he'd seen her choking back a snort, which sent him to wrench away and stumble even more.
She shook her head for each grimace he made, tut tutting his childish tantrum. "Really now?" She had her hands planted stubbornly on her hips, "You're in no shape to-"
"I'm perfectly fine, MADAM!" He shouted, trying to concentrate on straightening out his jacket and re-popping his collar. His hands swept over his broken horns, eyes bulging to discover he had no hat. "Merde!"
He set about to find the blasted thing, stopping short when Lusey made a soft whistling sound. Apparently she had spotted it sooner and (by the way she kept rotating it) wasn't about to just hand it over.
His posture straightened (the best he could while feeling so weak) extending his right arms, demanding, "My hat, s'il vous plaît."
She tilted her head, grinning like the cat that ate the canary, " 'scuse me, what? Hat? Oh, you mean this hat?" She twirled it on her finger.
His claws curled, "If you don't give me that-"
Her smile dripped towards his threat. Apparently she didn't take kindly to them. She turned her back to him, heading back to her building with his hat in tow.
"Hey!" He went to chase after her, making it only three steps before having to stop. His body shook so hard, aching and exhausted, breath again coming short. Probably all those sweets he had today, and every other day... if he remembered to eat at all.
He lowered his head, eyes shut to concentrate on regulating his breathing. He was, however, surprised when a gentle pair of arms encircled his waist again; snapping his head up to see she had resumed her position propping him up. She plopped his hat back over his choppy horns, smashing it down so that it covered one of his eyes completely. "Alrighty then, on the count of three we walk. But if you think you can keep lipping off to me.... " she leaned further into his face, the shadows around her expression making her look sinister, "..... i'll leave you here to rot. Got it?"
He bit his lip, nodding, not going to argue with that. He'd chalk his quick submission up to just being to tired to formulate a comeback, though deep down... he believed every word she said.
And that frightened him.

Part of her was still in shock and felt it was odd to detach herself from the situation but seeing that he was going to be properly taken care of for the time being she nodded at the girls words and continued down the road she scampered along before. Using the strong black fences along the rich roads she found that it was easier to walk when you had things on your mind.
Looking back at the girl hesitantly her eyes opened in curiously at the scene of the girl attempting to help the bug. A faint smile crept on her tired face, thinking back to when she first met her friend.
"I'm sure he'll be in good hands...as long as he's polite." she whispered, knowing that she wouldn't have to come back to check up on him with the gentle care that he was already in.
(( OOC: Sorry about the short post. I think I'll wrap up Mag's role here since it seems kind of pointless for her to be in the rest of this. XDD ))

Well... She thought, That shut him up. It wasn't too far now from home, and she was really hoping that nobody would see the two of them together. It was a slow pace, but she was managing to move him without too much effort. He was quiet now, she only heard his occasional puff as the two hobbled to her apartment. "I hope that woman is able to drop by and check up on this guy..." She muttered under her breath. She opened the door and led him inside. Ephraim chittered in a timid greeting. He knew she was going to scold him some more, there was no avoiding that. She did her best to sit her new gust on the couch then took a step back to pull up a chair. "You're quite the unhealthy looking bug, I pray you have a name of some sorts, I'm not good with trying to give people names..." He scoffed but didn't lash back with verbal abuse. "It's... Vandall..." "Vandall? Odd name... Not going to argue with it... Anyways, unless you're deaf, I've already said my name. But just call me Lusey..."
There was a great silence in the room. Then Annabeth turned to Ephraim, who made a strange squeaking noise. "Raimy, I told you not to follow me!" "Kirr-chiii!" "Stop your chittering, you know I don't understand bug! Look, it's bad enough that we had this one roaming the streets, but with you out there on the rooftops we'd be in a real pickle!" She sighed. "Look, we've only just met, but honestly, you need to listen to me if you want to keep out of trouble. I'm only human, I can't cover up for all of your mistakes." "Chirrr..." She smiled and sat back a little more comfortably. "It's alright. I'm sure there's some more fruit in the kitchen if you're hungry." He chittered happily and disappeared into the other room.
Annabeth looked over to Vandall, he was an odd and ill tempered sort. But he was smart, very smart, and he could speak. "So..." She crossed a leg over the other. "Care to explain what you were doing way up in this area of town? Or even, how you can be a... giant bug? I'm sorry if these questions ask too much of you."

((OOC: Yes, it is short. I am very sorry I have been re-writing this over and over and I am just going to post this because the more I try the more frustrated I get. So here. Have it. *huff*))
Having found some fruit, Ephraim made his way back to the living room figuring he would avoid Lusey’s wrath he did the sneaky thing. He used the ceiling to get to the living room and clung to there, watching her interact with the one she had called Vandall. Vandall was about to make a snappy comeback to her questioning when something caught his eye. Yelping in surprise he flung himself off the couch and crashed (again with the crashing! it was just not his night tonight, was it?!) in to the girl. The female in question yelped, pushed his already bruised and sore form of her, and whipped her head around when a chittery-laugh came from above them. “Raimy! Get down here you---” Hissing in anger and annoyance Vandall snatched a pillowed from the couch and with a tired and pained snarl he threw it at the giant bug on the ceiling with what was left of his strength. Watching the pillow hit his target with a satisfying ‘THUD’ and seeing said target loose grip on the ceiling and flop down caused him to smirk. Ah, revenge felt good. At least something had gone right tonight.

Ha HA! Nailed him.
Vandall gave a triumphant shout, laughing cruelly as the helpless fruit fly shrieked, flailed for a split second in the air, then went crashing hard to the ground.
He advanced only a little on the creature, tilting his head curiously. This immediately had Raimy scrambling to escape, searching the area wildly before falling on the one place he KNEW he'd be safe.
Running on all fours, he scurried underneath Lusey's chair, trying with all his might to heave his entire body under her protection. "Raimy?!" She wailed, digging her nails into the chairs fabric. It was all she could do to hang on and not spill out of her seat.
He still continued to plant his head and shoulders directly under her, stopping only when she rested her hand over his head and stroked him like a cat. "Shh, shh. It's okay, everything's going to be okay, Raimy. You're safe." Her soft cooing stopped the moment she snapped her glare onto Vandall, vaporizing his sadistic smirk on the spot. "Whatdya do that for?"
His brows shot up. "I-"
"He's scared out of his wits now because of you!"
"But-"
"Why are you such a jerk? He wasn't doing anything to you."
Vandall opened his mouth, ready for her to interrupt him. When she just sat there, puffing, he furrowed his brows, taking a firmer stance before wobbling back down to the couch. "I... that THING!"
"Fly." Lusey corrected, furthering baffling the other insect.
"Wha-?"
"He's a fly. Uh... fruit fly i think. He likes grapes." She gave Raimy another pet, easing his nerves enough he lowered his hands from his eyes, looking helplessly up at her. "Krii?"
Lusey sighed, shaking her head. "I still cant understand you, sweety. But if you're asking if you're alright, then you are. He's not going to hurt you again." Her glare returned to Vandall. "Will you, Bugsy?"
Vandall crossed his arms, screwing his own glare back. "Don't call me that."
"Fine. Monsieur Stick, then." She ignored his snarl, "You need to apologize."
"To what? THAT?" he pointed at Raimy, who coward even further at the shout.
"Yes! To HIM." She corrected.
Vandall turned his head away, reminding Lusey of all the spoiled brats from her hometown. And he just had to stomp his foot as he said. "No."
'Oh for crying out loud!' "He deserves an apology."
"No."
She immediately jumped up, standing before the moody insect, "Either you apologize to my friend right this instant or you can drag your sorry self back from whence you came. I didn't have to help you, you know, so you can at least show a little gratitude."
"Fine." He shot up, making her stumble back from the sudden movement. Without a word he limped towards the door. "Sir?" Lusey called, following close behind, "Sir, don't act this way."
"It's obvious i'm not wanted here."
"I didn't say that."
"Didn't you?" He glared.
With a huff she planted her hands on her hips, "What I meant was if you cant play nice then you might as well leave. Raimy didn't DO anything to you so you had no reason to attack him."
"No reason? He's a giant fly!"
"And you're a giant... er..." her hands waved in front of him, questioningly. He had never answered any of her questions.
"Treehopper."
"A giant... treehopper... then. Yeah. Okay, so we've established that much. You're both bugs." -he snarled- "Both harmless. I think."
His expression darkened, watching her with half lidded eyes.
She gulped.
Perhaps he wasn't as harmless as she initially thought.

Oh... ok... so she definitely stepped out of line there. He looked just about ready to slowly kill her over a blazing fire. It wasn't that homicidal wide-eyed look. But it was just as threatening. She let out a sigh. "Look, just say a quick apology. I won't kick you out. I'm not that kind of person... thoughIcouldbeifIreallytried..." He scoffed, but at least he wasn't trying to leave anymore. He limped quietly back to the couch and plopped down. Raimy had taken this time to crawl out from under the chair he was too big for, chittering and hiding behind Lusey. She smiled and patted his head. "It's alright, Raimy. I'm not going to let him hurt you..." There as a cruel expression on his face, a smirk of a sorts. "Really? Because I'm sure I could easily break your legs. Then you wouldn't be able to defend your pet." She gulped a little, but she did her best to hide her fear. "He's not my pet... he's a friend... A-and some gentleman that would make you! Bug or not, you're smart enough to know that that kind of assault is... is..." The murderous look on his face shut her up for that topic, and an eerie silence fell upon the entire room.
The ungodly lack of noise lasted for a good long while, but there were plenty of words being exchanged through their expressions. The silence was suddenly broken by an impatient chitter from Ephraim, who absent-mindedly decided to wander off and explore other parts of the small apartment. Lusey looked up at him and sighed. "Try not to knock over anything, Raimy!" "Krii~"
As the brown fly disappeared into the next room, Lusey started to rub the back of her neck. This was turning into one of the strangest days of her life. "Okay, I guess I should apologize for my behavior. Today's really turned into a mess for me. First a giant fly crashes through my window, and then you show up in the neighborhood amidst a rather loud argument with a doctor for reasons I have yet to determine..." "Your life is so hard." "Oh shut it. Though I'm sure you've had your share of pains this day as well." She smiled at him wryly, he knew exactly what she was referring to. "She was lucky." "No, you were rather careless... or malnourished, judging by how ridiculously thin you are for a giant treehopper." He bared his teeth in a dissatisfactory frown. "I didn't see you doing much yourself, little american." "Yeah? And? What if I had joined in? Then you'd have two girls beating you up. One of them being american, to boot." The look on his face darkened, causing her to shift in her seat. Stop patronizing him, Bethy. You're making things worse... She raised her arms in submission. "Okay, okay. I'll stop with the harassment... I think I've had enough drama for one day."
That's when things started to click in her head. Two male bugs, her, one couch, and a bed...
Dear GOD. She was going to have to sleep on the couch now!

So many interesting things in this place! He chittered to himself as he picked up random objects and carefully handled them as he examined them before placing them back where they belonged.
Leaving the room he spotted another door, excited by another room to explore he made his way inside.
Apparently, this was his new friend’s bedroom. He eyed the bed and scurried towards it, touching the covers to enjoy the soft fabric before he moved on to her closet. Peering inside he then eyed the clothing in there, before his gaze spotted a folded extra blanket at the bottom.
He looked back at the entrance to the room, wondering if he should ask her permission but not willing to return to the rather violent and scary other male’s presence, Ephraim made an odd half sigh, half chirp as he decided to take the chance.
He snatched the extra blanket and unfolded it before draping it around his large frame as if it was a cape, he ignored the feeling of his wings being flattened against his back by doing this, using his primary arms to hold the blanket in place, he continued to explore her bedroom using his secondary set to pick up and examine things that caught his eye.
When eventually he was finished exploring the bedroom, minus the drawers since his care-taker had told him drawers aren’t to be opened by curious bugs like him, he sat down on the floor leaning against the bed , a yawn escaped him.
Sleep quickly took over his body, and as he yawned again, he removed his goggles carefully and placed them on the nightstand that stood by the bed, he then re-arranged the blanket around him before settling down and curling up as much as he could.
A sleepy chirp escaped him before his eyed drifted shut and he fell asleep.
