So who has theories about what's going to happen in the film? I'll start off by sharing one of mine.
You know how when Francouer is first created, he's a hunched-over, red-eyed bug? Well, I think that over time he'll start to get more and more human. Whatever Raoul unleashed, my theory is that it's some sort of mixture that humanizes whatever it touches. So, Francouer could be slowly turning into a human over time. You'll notice his eyes change and he starts to stand up straight and act like a human. He can also sing and dance, which I'm pretty sure a normal giant flea couldn't do.
It's possible this film is going to be a mixture of Beauty and the Beast, Frankenstein, and Phantom of the Opera. If you've seen any of these movies, you'll notice the similarities to each. However, since so little has been released about the movie, it's almost impossible to be sure what's going to happen.
Anyway, please share your theories and ideas about the film!

I can see that happening. Im just glad that the trailer did'nt give a lot away. I dont wanna know the ending by seeing the trailer. I can see a mix of all three of those films, Phantom the most.

Wow, I LOVE that theory! I'm really hoping that the movie takes a turn like this.
Yah I was thinking that as well. The plot seems to match, I think, more to Beauty and the Beast.
Also, I noticed that the animation style is very similar to Ratatouille. Do you guys know it anyone that worked on that movie helped produce this one?

That is a delightful theory! I can surely see it happening, like Zenoah said.
Ohhh, I don't know what exactly to think could happen. Though I do figure, that in that La Seine thing, Lucille was supposed to sing it all slow and nice and such. But theeeeen BOOM. Epic, Makes-you-wanna-dance music from Francoeur! So suddenly, dance party!(okay, not really a dance party, just more lively. Hehe)
And everyone liked the more lively show, so maybe Francoeur will become a regular member of that show place with Lucille? (until someone sees through his disguise!)

Not really a theory, but I saw some connections between the trailer and Le Seine. Okay so we got that quick part from the trailer where Lucille seems to be taking in praise. Instead, I see it as "Oh no, the curtain is open and he's on stage." This leads the the La Seine clip. I can see Franc being sent up to where the band is and plays his own tune. Thus why the rest of the band is confused and Lucille is a bit taken off guard. I've also circled Raoul and Emile. They can be seen on an upper deck of sorts and, at the end of La Seine, can be seen trecking back stage to possibly address Lucille.

The film has a Pixar-ish look about it. It was probably styled after Pixar movies since they're so popular and it'll attract more attention if it looks like one. Or it's just a coincidence. It is possible that the director got some animators from Pixar to help though since he's done a lot of American films.

I can't wait to see if that's what's going on (Though I will say in that first image it looks like Francoeur is waving to the audience lol) Also modifying to say Notice her body language in the first image? It looks like she's been reaching out for something. And then Francoeur looks like he's trying to hold it away from her grabby hands. Soooo... Either she's presenting him to the crowd, or he really shouldn't be touching that guitar. Like, maybe the guitar belonged to her dad, and her parents have been dead since she was 9, making the guitar a sentimental keep-forever-item.

That or she's trying to shoo him off the stage. But I can see the guitar theory working too.

I agree, I see it more as maybe Francoeur wanted to be on stage with Lucille and she was telling him to leave. Her arms are more to his chest so that would leave me to believe that he’s not supposed to be there.

I can so see Francouer playing keep-away with the guitar XD Him keeping Lucille away with just one hand since she's so much shorter than he is....oh, I might have to do a sketch of that. But yeah, I agree she's probably trying to shoo him off the stage before the curtain opens. That seems to happen a lot in movies, doesn't it?

I'm pretty sure that's EXACTLY what happens; Francoeur follows her on-stage, she tries to shoo him away, but the curtain opens and there's an awkward silence moment from the crowd, she then shoos him up to the band balconey and the "La Seine" scene happens.

Personally, I want to know WHY he ends up ringing Lucille's doorbell at all. I mean, I don't think it's random, because he seems dejected after she doesn't open the door right away. Maybe he heard her on the radio and loved the music?

I don't think those two scenes are actually connected. The bell-ringing seems more like a curiousity thing (look at his expression), and the alley scene could be much later. Plus, Lucille seems to be drawn to him because of his singing (that part in the trailer makes it seem like the VO singing is actually a part of the alley scene, cuz there's a brief moment where Francoeur seems to be moving his mouth to the words). EDIT: Regarding my last point, here's an animated gif showing his mouth moving when -M- sings "sous ce manteau noir" the word in bold is the one he seems to be mouthing.

I think he might be singing, because what else would prompt Lucille to look outside if he's just sitting quietly against the wall? I also translated "sous ce manteau noir" on Google and it mean "Under this black coat" and I'm pretty sure he's wearing a black coat in that scene.
The doorbell thing could've been he saw it at someone else's house and pulled on it out of curiosity. If the person came outside and saw him they would've screamed and thrown things at him, which would prompt him to find some quiet alley to sing a sad song in (one that happens to be behind the home of Lucille) I hope he is singing there, that'd be so cute :3
