My scanner is now up and working (there always seems to be something wrong with it X/), so you guys can all see my silly little fanart sketches. I really couldn't resist trying to draw some of the characters after I saw the movie. The character designs are just awesome. None of them are really finished drawings, just rough sketches right now. They're not the best, but they were fun to draw. I might have time to actually do a nice piece next month maybe.
You guys are like the experts on 'A Monster in Paris' so you can tell me if I drew the characters correctly, or if I forgot some details, (which I most probably did). So tell me if there's anything glaringly wrong, so I can fix it in later drawings. I tried to use references when possible, but for example I couldn't find any good references for Francoeur's back legs, and I didn't have the movie with me at the time so I just guessed based on what I could find/remember. Anyway, here they are:
Just some Francoeur doodles to get a feel for drawing him – figuring out shapes, angles, anatomy, drawing ideas etc. He's so much fun to draw. ^^ I love his design so much. Like I said couldn't find too many good references, so he's probably a little off.
Unfinished Francoeur sketch. I had no reference, and I just didn't like how it was turning out. I might finish it, might not.
Who doesn't love Emile? I mean what's not to love about him? ^^ He probably needs more fanart, so I did some Emile doodles. I'm really bad at drawing humans, so I referenced heavily for this one. There's probably a lot wrong with it, but I think they turned out pretty good, once I figured out how to draw him.
“This... isn't what it looks like...”
Really Francoeur? Because it looks like you were just about to turn that pup into a smoothie. XD
Just a really rough sketch of how Francoeur might go about feeding: sneaking up on unsuspecting dogs with a straw. I may actually clean this one up and color it one day. It's so awkwardly adorable. The scanner cut some of it off. Yeah, my scanner isn't the best.
Eh... don't ask. I'm a total horse freak; they're really my forte as far as drawing is concerned, so I'll find any excuse to draw a horse in a picture. XP I really like how this one came out. That poor horse deserves some sugar after all that. He did help them after all, and that straw coat looked really nasty.
That's all for now. I'll have to draw more serious stuff when I find more time. So just enjoy the silly sketches.
