Find something interesting that you've missed seeing/hearing on your first viewing of the film? Share it here! I'm trying to figure out what the name of the cinema is called. I wish I had a high resolution image of the cinema, because I can barely make out the name, but here's what screencap I can get (wish I had the DVD!): Something Du Dragon?? Just a guess, I'm not sure... Also when Albert is being dragged away from Lucille's room, he says something as he's being dragged away and it's hard to make out. I wish I knew what he was saying!

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_MélièsThis is Emile's idol, as Maude so kindly points out. 83 I have seen several of his films and I could see why Emile would love his films back in the day. He is a filmmaker who invented some revolutionary film techniques in the early 20th century.

I thought that the "something du dragon" thing was an advertisement for the film they were showing, not the name of the theater...

Good point, that never occurred to me! Still begs the question (at least the one that's been nagging me) what the theater is officially called...

took me to the 4th rewatch to figure what Francouer did with his second thumb: he put them together. before i thought he just put the second thumb up near the 3rd finger of his top hands.
also, given the fact that emile's daydream had a DRAGON in it, pretty sure that its a movie about dragons. After most recent rewatch, after the press conference, Maude is putting up a new poster for the movie: L ile du dragon. (the island of Dragon)

new thing i noticed, cuz usually i skim over the more boring parts. Raoul screams like a little girl when the pageboy sneaks up behind him with the newspaper atleast in the english version

I always thought that part was hilarious! XD
I was skimming the DVDs at my University library and it just so happens that they have the complete collection of Georges Melies' films! (Emile's filmmaker idol) I will have to pick it up sometime and watch it. ^^

im pretty impressed at how they animated Francoeur's legs. if you watch closeley you can see the extra joint in his lower legs as hes dancing. they really did put a lot of effort in animating him. ;D also, just noticed this one, after maynott kisses lucille's hand after searching for the boys, she rubbs at it like she wants to scrub it clean for a cople hours

ima keep posting in this thread since the forums dead >.> new thing: charles cleans himself like a cat. after the boys fall out of the chimney, he's the only one spotless while emile and raoul are still trying to whipe themselves off. then raoul sneezes getting charles all dirty again, he glares at raoul and starts cleaning his hands with his tounge. do monkey's groom themselves like this in the wild? that soot must taste disgusting! poor charles also, i think the black hat is very important to Francoeur. all during the chase scene he's either holding it or checking that he still has it on. his attachment becomes vital i guess after what happens at the eifel tower.

During the first scene with Francoeur in the alley behind L'oiseau Rare after Albert runs off I realized that when he pulled the bell he 'sang' with the tone.
Amusingly enough it took me a second watching to realize what he did with his extra arms when Lucille instructed him to 'hide' them. I hadn't realized that he put both arms on each side of his body through the coat sleeves with his hands aligned to make four fingers and a thumb to fit into the glove.
SO OBSERVANT ~__~ ........

anyone else wondering what the violinist is doing with a bow when he plucks his instrument? I think I can answer that! I took violin lessons in middle school for several years Sometimes we would actually play the violin in that manner, plucking the strings more like a guitar, but for other parts in the song or for different songs in our performance we would play with the bow.

something i noticed, cant get a good screenshot form the online versions, but... i think when francoeur jumped thru the roof of the greenhouse he BENT the metal framing(in his flash back the metal is whole, but in overhead shots of it its warped). also given how he couldnt be budged at all when lucille pushed against him on the stage, and how raoul couldnt get him to stand up on the tower.. (but when Lucile opened the door to the cabaret he was pushed backwards into the wall very easily, because he was caught offguard as he was distracted by the doorbell)
Francoeur is VERY VERY STRONG. if he wanted to he probably could have stopped maynott from hurting him and his friends. but instead, francoeur is gentle. rather than being a bully lik maynnott ;D
as soon as i get my dvd i will get screenshots of what im talking about.
