The new clips in this are fantastic lksjfalksd.
I know it's been expressed previously, but if anyone could translate, at least roughly what he's talking about...? That would be so nice. (I have a particular interest in the conception and production aspects to the animation.) But if not that's okay too!

(I have a particular interest in the conception and production aspects to the animation.) But if not that's okay too! You mean the interview? I guess I could try, and hopefully lycaon can give me a hand XD He begins by explaining the movie is based on the nostalgy Paris brings him since he worked there for about 8 years - so he really wanted to make a movie set in Paris. But a parisian Paris, not a Paris made by tourists. It's what he refers to as "Paris du Coeur", with a specific assymetric architecture, which roughly means something like "Paris from the heart"? XD He also explains the flood in Paris is a real fact he uses to create a fictional story in the movie |D Then he talks about the steps needed to create the movie itself - the script, the visual creation, the character design, the storyboards, the 3D modelling. He says he wanted to do a photorealistic film, with a lot of concern for the artistic aspect - which explains the colorful backgrounds . He says that's exactly what gives the visual side of the film originality and magic. He mentions that he wrote the movie in French, thought about the French voice actors and only then found the English ones and animated the movie in English. The first "actor" was -M-. Bibo says he's flagrant in his role because he was looking for someone with an unique voice - an angelic voice, not a monstruous one. Then he was looking for someone who knew how to sing well to voice Lucille, but who was also a great "comedian" - and -M- was the one to suggest Vanessa Paradis, since they worked together previously. Then when the two of them started singing the song, Bibo thought "Well this is something incredible". He also mentions this story is a story of fraternal love between a pretty cabaret singer and a monster who loves music (he says something else but I can't understand, sorry :x ) He also compares Francoeur and Lucille's relationship to -M- and Vanessa's since they are "like brother and sister". And if I listened correctly, -M- and Vanessa actually performed for him, they did a little choreography for La Seine.

I know it is a little kids movie ... but the French trailer makes it seem so much cooler. :3 Yeah don't expect too much when watching the English trailer ... in French. ^^;
