So I'm NOT a cosplay seamstress extraordinaire. But I love buying costumes at an affordable price, or piecing them together from finds at the goodwill etc. So I've recently been desiring a Lucille angel costume... or even a Francoeur costume. ;D I just thought I'd open this up to discussion to share ideas and or finds. Right now I might bid on a white vintage dress but perhaps not. I want to make this costume PERFECT or else it'll look like I'm wearing a tacky faded white dress with wings and people will be all like "who are you?" (well, they'll probably be like that anyway unless they're following this film like me...)

I ALMOST SQUASHED A FRUIT FLY... I am so sad at myself.... sorry random, but somehow relevant comment... Yeah, thanks guys!! I was surprised at how I found the EXACT same shape, but it was hard to find a cheap one. This one is actually an antique... from the early 1900's!! Now I'm on to finding a dress... I'm going to hit the goodwills...

AWESOME FIND! I mean...look....its the EXACT same! I wonder if a desiner for Lucille had (seen) the same clip. Just...wow my mind is BLOWN with how exactly the same it is! As a cosplayer myself I LOVE comming across an item that looks just like a piece of the costume!
With Halloween comming, you'll be able to find the wings. Yes, Goodwill and other thrift stores are the BEST place to look for cosplay. I've been doing it for years, so if you have questions, just ask.

I was so surpised that I found such a find, also. That's why I HAD to get it. there goes $38...... he he.... and I do wonder if the animators looked at that same clip! I'm debating over whether I should leave it (I probably shall) or if I should spray paint it a light gold.... Yeah, the wings look like they'll be easy to find. I'm not sure if it's that important for them to be pointing "up" or "down" but I'll probably try to get them pointing up since they're pointing up for the entirety of the "La Seine" clip. XDD I was ebaying white dresses under the criteria of "vintage" "white" "satin" "victorian" "evening gown" etc.... any tips on some other keywords? Well, I'll probably just browse my goodwills (I KNOW RIGHT! THEY ARE THE BEST!!) and see if I find something there I can just modify.

Ebay and that kinda of dress? You'll be looking at a good chunk of change. Leave the clip be. It's too expensive to paint and what if you made a mistake?
Im planing on doing Franc for a convention formal where the theme is "white" Any idea on where I can find a hat like his?

I know this probably won't be a big deal to anyone but me, but I believe I found something awesome. I was at Target yesterday in the Halloween section when I FOUND A MASK THAT LOOKS ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE FRANCOEUR'S!! ;D It was only $2, so I was like "HELLS TO THE YEAH!" and bought it right then and there. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with it though... Voila! (It's not the exact mask, but this is the closest picture I could find): Attachments:

I think a cowboy hat with an uncurled brim would work, but good luck finding one uncurled, they don't usually sell them with flat brims.
